Big Climb Success

Kirkland Boot Camp Supports Cancer Research

It’s been a while since I’ve had a chance to write on this blog because I’ve been hard at work getting our new Kirkland location ready for its grand opening (happening very soon I hope!). But now I’m back and it’s becaus I have some bragging to do!

For those of you who don’t know, this is the first year that Team Embody Health has participated in the Big Climb. What is the Big Climb? It’s a grueling climb up the 69 flights, 1,311 stairs of the Columbia tower to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

All of our team members finished the climb and together we demolished our fundraising goal of $1000 and raised over $2800! We raised this money through special ‘for the Big Climb’ boot camps, through bake sales, and through our great friends, families and coworkers. I have to give a big round of applause to my teammates: Michelle, Pam, Peter, Kim, Iren, Taylor, Lou, Amber, Angelica (and Isabel), Kathleen and Ryan for doing such a great job with the fundraising and kicking but on the climb.

Not only were we able to support a great cause, but in training for the climb, we trained hard and got in better shape. One team member knocked off 8 minutes from her previous attempt at the climb!

Thanks to everyone for supporting our team and for participating in the climb. Big shout out to Adam Dibba and her family for showing up on the day of the race to show her support! Stay tuned later in the year for info on our 2013 team and how to donate or join us!
